Luck of the Irish

Hey Everyone!
I hope you had a restful weekend and are ready for the new week to begin....because I know I'm not!!  It just went by so fast.
I did stop at our local dollar store and picked up a few items that I'll send to New York to my son. Being Irish and all, he HAS to celebrate in style.  Here's what I found...
front door decoration
window cling - ons
a really cute tie
paper plates,
All the comforts of home :-)      I'm pretty sure he doesn't regularly look at my blog, so I should be safe posting this before it arrives.

Keeping Up!

Hey Everyone!  Today's post should be "Trying To Keep Up!" Now that Influenza has officially made a visit in our community, It's been super busy at the office. Those poor kiddos.... And the poor Mommies that aren't allowed to get sick, but do anyway.  I'm amazed at my cast-iron immune system, at least when it comes to sicky stuff.  Bodily fluids tend to spew like nobody's business and it sometimes takes great talent to dodge the airborne, germ-filled, microscopic {and not so microscopic} particles.  I've been known to hold my breath ~ especially when I can tell that I might have a gagger, when I stick that throat swab down there {testing for strep} and the slightest touch of the Uvula, will send last night's dinner back up to say HI.  Again, gotta be quick like a bunny!
Thought you might appreciate the visual.
Amazing what you can find on the internet, isn't it?

Other fun times I've had recently has been in the Wedding department!  We have TWO wedding this year... my oldest son in August, and my youngest son in October.  A few weeks ago, I went with my youngest son's fiance { & her Mom, Aunt & Bridesmaids} to L.A. for dress shopping.  This was a fun afternoon and after she said "Yes to The Dress" we had a wonderful lunch across the street at a place called The Taste.  Without revealing too much, here are a few photos...

Vera Wang, Melrose St. Los Angeles

I love how the fashion hangs from the ceiling!

Of course I love the sparkly ones in the middle.

Just one of the displays of lovely lace & beads & sequins!

Ready wear items in the front of store...which I can now get 20% off !
Right across the street, perfect little place for lunch.
So now both future daughter-in-laws have their dress!  It's so exciting for sure.  The magical days will be here before we know it.
Remember the sewing machine/applique machine I bought in January?  I'm embarrassed to say that it is still in the box!  Oh I know, it's horrible....but just so you know, I'm waiting for a sewing Fairy to set it up for me in my awesome sewing room. He or she will have connected it to my laptop, tested it, made a few samples, figured out all the kinks and will show me in 10 minutes or less, how it works.  Sounds like the perfect plan, right?

I'll let you know how that goes.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Something For The Girls

Hey Everyone!
I thought I'd share a few photos of the doggie cover I made.  Only Abby was able to model it because the size I made is a tad bit too small for the "biggie iggie" Mia.  The outside is a red fleece and the inside is a white cotton with red hearts.  It attaches in two places, around the neck and belly with hook & loop {velcro}.
Abby, my model
The outside
The inside
The neck - about 13"
Really, Do I have to do this?
Have a great weekend!
Until next time,

My FAV "Holiday"

Hey Everyone!
I know it's been forever {or about 3 weeks} since my last post. Not good!  I hope that won't happen again.
My favorite "holiday" is coming up! Yep, Valentine's Day.  I love all the PiNk and Lace and Hearts, Sparkles.  In honor of this lovey~dovey week ahead, I made this totally easy bunting/garland decoration.  Lookie Here....
So seriously, these little buntings are the easiest and quickest way to add color and a festive touch to a room.  Whatever shape you can cut out repeatedly is fair game.  The worse part is waiting for the glue to dry.  Or, if you don't glue on sequins & beads, another option is to sew your shapes to the string and you have instant gratification!  I've also used the triangle shape for my other garlands.  Possibilities are endless... besides being a great use for scraps.
I have one up in my shop now ~ that was for sale ~ but I'm donating it to my  Etsy Team-IrihanaArts.  Besides great shops {with equally great items} in this weekends BNR, there will also be a raffle with lots of great giveaway prizes. Here's the link:  All You Need Is Love!

So my pink laptop is officially gone.  It was the motherboard.  Luckily my son is able to remove the hard drive and transfer everything to an external drive. I finally learned my lesson, the hard way and I'll save the important files to icloud or some other happy place beside the hard drive.  Even gmail is better than nothing!  I love how I am continually learning, even at my old age :-)  You may be wondering what I'm posting with.   I'm now a Mac Book user.  It's taking some getting used to but I think it'll be okay.  Did you know everything is on the wrong side?  And what's with the red light, green light thing?  Lol, I do like all the bouncy icons below on the dock.  And my most fav thing is the size.  I have the 13" and I really prefer that over the gigantic one for sure.  Way easier to take along.  So easy in fact, I'm sitting in my backyard typing away... and I think the sun is actually burning my legs right now. Who knew it was so strong at 10:45am in the winter? Gotta love So Cal.
